Hangar 1
The Museum’s collection of transport and training aircraft consists of some of the largest and smallest machines flown by the Royal Air Force including Bravo November. Most are concentrated in Hangar 1.
All air forces rely on transport and communications aircraft for moving troops and equipment. There is also a major requirement to retain a fleet of trainers to teach aircrews the wide variety of skills they must master before they can become “operational”.

The Museum regularly undertakes a programme of maintenance and conservation, so some exhibits or Hangars may be temporarily inaccessible. If you are visiting us to see something specific, please contact us in advance to ensure it that it is on display and available for public viewing.
Please note: Hangar 1, the home of Chinook Helicopter Bravo November, will be closed to the public on 14 December for a private event. We would like to apologise in advance for any disappointment that this news may cause.
