Please note: From Friday 7 June until the end of December 2024 Colindale station will be closed and trains will not be stopping at the station. Other public transport routes are available to the Museum and we advise consulting the TFL website route planner for the most up to date information.

The Museum is situated near by Colindale Underground Station on the Edgware branch of the Northern Line. Please alight at Colindale, not Hendon Central. Colindale is in Zone 4.

Plan your journey to using the TFL website

If you are not familiar with the London Underground, you can pick up a map free of charge from any Underground station or download one here. For useful ticketing information and service updates, visit the Transport for London website www.tfl.gov.uk.

To travel to the Museum, get on the Northern Line (the black line on the maps) travelling North. The Northern Line runs through King's Cross Station so this can be a useful place to pick it up.

The two branches of the Northern Line merge at Camden Town. You need to be on a train travelling to EDGWARE (known as the Edgware Branch). If you are on the other line (the High Barnet Branch), then change at Camden Town onto an Edgware train. Trains heading to Mill Hill East are on the High Barnet Branch. All the electronic displays will show which destination the train is heading for: Edgware, High Barnet or Mill Hill East.

Stay on the Northern Line and alight at Colindale station. Do not alight at Hendon Central - this is the station before Colindale. The journey should take around half an hour from King's Cross. There is only one exit from Colindale station. Turn left out of the station and walk straight along the road for about 10 minutes.

By Bus

Route 303 passes the entrance to the Museum. Look at the entire route of the 303 bus on the TFL website. The bus stop for this service is located directly outside the exit of Colindale Underground station.

For those using 'What3Words', use Hill.Think.Focal on the app or website to find our location.

If using a SAT NAV use postcode NW9 5QW. This will bring you to the bottom of Aerodrome Road. On some old systems using our postcode will tell you that you have arrived at the Museum, when you are still on the M1.

There is parking on site, parking charges apply.

Car parking capacity

During the school holidays our Museum is a very popular destination. This means our car park fills quickly. To avoid lengthy queuing at the entrance of the car park, please consider using public transport, either by bus, underground or rail.

London's Ultra Low Emission Zone

As of 28 August 2023 the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone has been expanded to help clean up London's air. There are charges for some older cars driving into London, and the Museum is now included within the expanded ULEZ zone, meaning any visitors driving into the Zone will have to pay this charge.
