RAF Centenary Programme – First 100 Years of the RAF
This new permanent exhibition, which will open to the public in the Summer of 2018, will serve as an introduction to the Royal Air Force and will reflect on the first 100 years of its history through the stories of its people and partners from its formation in 1918 as the world’s first independent air force.
The exhibition will feature the many roles undertaken by the RAF and its partners, which include the momentous events of the Second World War, the Cold War and more recent operations.
The exhibition will present five areas of the RAF’s work : Meet the RAF, Prepare, Defence, Attack and Support. The Museum’s team will select iconic moments and people from the RAF’s history of help explore each theme.
