Full Dress Uniform Helmet – one of 100 reasons to visit the RAF Museum
On his wedding day, in 1923, Prince Albert, the future King George VI and future father of the Queen, wore an RAF Full Dress Uniform including its helmet which was given a rather unusual nick-name due to its very distinctive shape!
King George VI’s Full Dress Uniform Helmet is on display in our new exhibition ‘RAF Stories: The First 100 Years 1918 – 2018’. View it and decide whether its shape justifies its nick-name.
Just one of 100 reasons to visit the RAF Museum.
