Goolie Chit – one of 100 reasons to visit the RAF Museum
Who would have thought that such a little piece of paper has been saving the lives of RAF servicemen from 1920s until the present day?
A Goolie Chit, so called because it protected an #airman’s most personal items, was a message of vital importance written in many languages which promised a reward for anyone who aided an airman trapped behind enemy lines.
One is now on display in 1 of 3 our new incredible exhibitions ‘RAF Stories: The First 100 Years 1918-2018’. Why not drop in to view it?
Just one of 100 reasons to visit the RAF Museum.
