Schools and Colleges
Our award-winning Access and Learning staff utilise our unique and fascinating collection to offer a wide range of innovative, fun and enjoyable activities to a variety of audiences.
All activities support the National Curriculum and can be adapted to suit the specific needs of visiting groups, including those with mobility and sensory impairments and other special needs. Workshops available are subject specific or can be cross-curricular.
We work on site or online with nurseries, schools, colleges, universities and home educated groups. We also offer off site sessions to these and other audiences including residential care homes and hospitals.
We advise all staff interested in booking a visit to the Museum to contact the team as soon as possible, so that the needs of each school can be discussed. It is not recommended to make a school visit without making a prior booking regardless of the content of the day. Timetables for the duration of your visit are provided to help your group maximise time at the Museum.
We can organise ’bespoke’ activity days for schools working with teachers to create a special day for their students.
In all cases, it is expected that students under the age of 16 years are accompanied by an adult at all times whilst on site.
We also offer a range of online sessions, live-streamed directly to your school.
To book a school visit, an online workshop or for more information on these services, contact us at learning-midlands@rafmuseum.org.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Museum in any capacity.
