We offer opportunities for Brownies and Guides which take place on select Saturdays throughout the year.
Brownies Aviation Badge Event
Saturday 6 June 2026
This is a special hands-on event designed for Brownies to achieve their Aviation Badge. Brownies will have the opportunity to sketch RAF aircraft in the Museum’s galleries, complete gallery-based trails exploring key themes of aviation history and technology, followed by a parachuting experiment workshop led by a member of Museum staff. Brownies will investigate the science behind parachutes and safe landings. The event will conclude with the presentation of badges, celebrating the Brownies’ achievements and marking the successful completion of their Aviation Badge.
Suitable for Brownies (7-10yrs)
£5 per child (to include Brownies Aviation Badge)

Black History Month Badge, Girl Guiding Event
Saturday 24 October 2026
This event will celebrate Black History Month by exploring the stories of Black role models within the RAF. Looking at current and historical figures, we will highlight their contributions to the RAF and the prejudice some of them faced. We will look at how Guides can act as allies to support a fair, just, and equitable society. The day will start with a presentation by one of our Learning team facilitators, which will include interactive elements involving uniforms and items from our Handling Collection. The Guides will then use our Black History Month resources to complete a Museum trail. Finally, we will gather for the presentation of this year’s Black History Month badge to each participant.
Suitable for Guides (10-14yrs)

Digital Trail
Your group can enjoy testing their phonetic alphabet skills, learning about aircraft and taking some fun selfies with our free online Scouts and Guides Trail.

From the Wright Brothers to supersonic flight, find out how planes fly and how designs have changed. This video explores 100 years of flight, finding out about our amazing aircraft and sharing real-life stories from the RAF.
