Our ‘Airfield’
Visitors are invited to discover a new green heart of the community in Colindale reflecting the shape of RAF Hendon’s historic airfield.
Our newly landscaped site includes:
- Outdoor picnic areas
- Comfortable free parachute shaped beanbags on which to relax
- Children’s playground
- Two new cafés
- Visitor car parking
- Fully accessible pathways to all our Hangars
Visitors can also listen to interviews of local residents and ex-service personnel talking about their experience in Hendon through three beautiful #tannoys designed in style of airfield tannoys of the 1930s or learn more about our site’s history by sitting on one of two public seats that have embedded into their design imagery and stories of our site.
