VE Day Celebration London

Join us at the RAF Museum London for a day of celebration for the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe day! We will commemorate this historic day with activities that reflect the feeling of celebration that this day brought in 1945. All activities are free to join. We encourage families to come dressed in 1940s fashions to be in with a chance to win a prize for best dressed family!
Bunting Workshops
Come on down and allow your artistic skills to flourish as we decorate some bunting to celebrate VE Day’s 80th anniversary.

Biscuit Decorating Workshop
Head on over to H3/H4 to decorate some biscuits in true 1940s fashion as we prepare to celebrate VE Day.

Decorate our street party tablecloth!
On VE Day, many communities held street parties in celebration. Try your hand at decorating our commemorative tablecloth and learn all about how people celebrated VE Day.

Handling Collection
Take a chance to step back in time by trying on some VE day inspired outfits from the museum’s handling collection!

Photobooth
Take the opportunity to snap a photo in our 1940s outfits from the handling collection and take the photo away with you as a memory of a fun day in the RAF Museum.

Storytelling by the Lysander
Hear stories all about the history surrounding VE Day, and how people around Europe chose to celebrate it.
