Colindale Station Now Open to the Public
Published on: 20 December 2024
The station has reopened in a temporary state, with work along the platform and next to the old station building continuing into next year.
Customers will resume access via a one-way system through a temporary passage and down the new staircases. Step-free access will not be available until the new ticket hall opens next autumn.
The station has been closed since June 2024 so that Transport for London could safely complete all the essential demolition, piling and installation of steel beams and a concrete slab which will provide the base for the new station building.
Once the upgrade is complete, a spacious new ticket hall will increase the capacity of the station, with more ticket gates, new customer information screens and updated signage, and a lift offering step-free access to the station for the first time.
