You will need to prebook your tickets in advance, click on the "Book Tickets" button found at the top of this page. Booking your arrival time helps us to guarantee you the space you need for a safe and enjoyable experience. You will be emailed an order confirmation that will include your unique Booking Reference Number and a barcode that also contains this number.

Admission to the museum is free of charge.

In accordance with current government guidance about Covid-19 we strongly advise that you wear a face covering in our galleries, restaurant^* and shop, unless exempt from doing so.

You do not need to wear one when outside in our green spaces, unless it makes you more comfortable to do so. We would also ask that when in our buildings that our visitors be aware of others around them and where possible maintain a social distance of 1 metre.

^*Except when seated.

When you arrive on site, please book in at the Visitor Centre (glass fronted building) Check-in Desk where staff will be available if you have any questions. Please note that the Museum opens at 10.00am. If your party arrives before this time please wait in your vehicle or by the Museum entrance until 10.00am as we cannot allow access into the Museum before this time.

If you have booked in advance of your arrival any guidebooks, simulator ride tickets or 4D Theatre tickets these will be awaiting collection for you at the Museum’s Check-in Desk.

If you are arriving by car, motorhome or motorbike you will be required to pay for parking. The charges are £5.00 for 0 to 7 hours. Coaches and minibuses (more than 9 seats) are not required to pay car parking charges. Blue badge holders are required to pay for car parking. Parking can be paid for in advance by using this link or can be paid for on site at the check-in desk on day of arrival.

Low level barriers ensure excellent viewing of exhibits for all visitors. There are wide aisles in the hangars ensuring access for pushchairs and wheelchairs is very easy. A limited number of manual wheelchairs and motor scooters (weather permitting) are available for loan on site. We do not charge a hire fee but would appreciate if you would be kind enough to leave a donation. These are available on a first come first served basis at the Check-in Desk on arrival in the Visitor Centre.

Storage is not available. We recommend that bags and coats are kept to a minimum and either left on the coach or carried around.

Catering facilities at Cosford include the Airfield Kitchen in the Visitor Centre and Checkpoint café within the National Cold War Exhibition.

The Airfield Kitchen
The Airfield Kitchen is open daily from 10.00am – 4.00pm and covers all your food and drink needs during your visit at the Museum. You can join us for breakfast from 10.00am or later in the day there is a large selection of grab and go sandwiches and drinks, along with a lunch menu.

Photography, including filming, the taking of digital images and the use of flash, is permitted, but solely for private use. Please stay within the visitor route when taking photographs.

The Museum can organise tours for pre-booked groups; prices are variable depending on the type of tour booked. Our team of volunteer guides have an interest in aviation and the RAF. If your group would like an in-depth tour of the aircraft including specific technical information, please contact 01902 376 200. Please give as much notice as possible to guarantee availability.

Public Tours are also available at 11.00am and 2.00pm on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

You are of course free to make your own way around the Museum.

We would be delighted to welcome you to our Museum shop located on the lower level in the National Cold War Exhibition. A giant statue of Lenin is positioned above the tills and will help you find us! You will find a wide range of books, DVDs, models, prints, gifts, clothes, toys and pocket-money souvenirs to suit any budget. There are also bargains to be found on the nearly new aviation bookstall. You can also shop online at and sign up to the shop e-newsletter to receive special offers. Groups of no more than 10 children should visit the shop at any one time, and should be accompanied by an adult.

Yes, the RAF Museum has Public Liability Insurance of up to £5 million.
