Earlier this week, the Royal Air Force Museum celebrated Interfaith Week by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Telford & Wrekin Interfaith Council.

By working together in a spirit of friendship for a just and inclusive community, the RAF Museum and Telford & Wrekin Interfaith Council share a commitment and responsibility to engage with a broader range of people, across all communities.

The MOU was signed by RAF Museum CEO Maggie Appleton and Cllr Raj Mehta, Chair of Telford & Wrekin Interfaith Council. Also in attendance on the day were Trustees and colleagues from both organisations who champion equity, diversity, and inclusion.

RAF Museum CEO, Maggie Appleton said:

‘Telford & Wrekin Interfaith Council and the RAF Museum share a commitment to explore ways to harness our knowledge, people and spaces to bring those of all faiths, and of no faith, together. We are keen to harness the RAF Museum collection for everyone’s inspiration, learning and enjoyment and this Memorandum of Understanding underlines our intent and formalises our partnership and friendship.’

Plans are already underway for a large collaborative event to be held at the Museum in 2023, bringing together diverse local communities and celebrating the new partnership.
